1. Rap name and where did it originated from?
Rei Grant and it originated from me taking my fathers last name (Grant) and a nickname my mother gave me (Ray) and i use the Japanese spelling of Ray because I appreciate anime and the concept their culture so much so yea lol
2. Where are you from?
I was born in Queens, Ny but I've live in Miramar most of i life soflo been my home.
3. Influences/Inspirations?
There's so much things that inspire and push me to grow as an artist like J.Cole, Kendrick, Cudi, Vybz Kartel, Aidonia, Jay-Z manga/anime and just life ya know ? I like honestly living and just experiencing this is inspirational in itself .
4. What makes your music different than other rappers/producers?
I'm different honestly because I'm organic and authentic in my approach to doing music, I wanna show music that's beautiful because it's show the flaws and different layers of being human. I even try to show in my compositions because I feel like there's many do that and I wanna make being yourself as an artist basically cool again ya know?
5. Dream collab?
Yooo my dream collab hmmmmn I would have to say J.Cole because he spoke so much to me as a kid growing up especially his track "breakdown" because I can relate to it and I feel like because of that a collab would be crazy.
6. Favorite rapper and why?
J. Cole lol just because like I said he was really the first rapper that really spoke to me and me feel like hip hop was do-able for me with his story and his transparency I loved it growing up.
7. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Honestly I see my self being on my to or being one the greatest rappers to ever do it I feel like I can be that and I wanna do whatever it takes to make that happen.
8. Favorite album?
Right now ? Dammmn hmmm I'd say Good Kid M.A.A.D City it was just vivid storytelling and beautifully put together to me.
9. Upcoming projects?
Yeaaa, I got a couple projects I'm working on for next to be crazy ! now I'm readying up just put out more music being out more and showing people that I got the ability and I don't plan on stopping til it's seen.
10. Fun fact about you?
Umm lol I like imagining everything around me in the perspective of a tv show it makes life a little more bearable.
