1. Producer name and where did it originated from?
Benji Armstrong.
I was a really big Future fan back in 2011, my thing was Benji Montana back then. He has been a favorite artist of mine since True Story.
Before the whole drugs/banger mainstream stuff of today (still awesome music by the way), it was all about being an ASTRONAUT, being out of space, being out of this world. I really dug the idea of being something greater than just a dude who makes music; even if you are dope and everyone really likes you a lot. No one seems to buy into that kind of stuff today.
Being A "rockstar" or an "astronaut" who was destined to walk the moon like Neil seemed much more appealing than just being the cool guy that everyone else thinks they are. So the name Armstrong just stuck ~ out of this planet, out of the ordinary, far from average.
2. Where are you from?
Lauderdale Lakes, FL ~ Broward County
3. Influences/inspirations?
Nas and 2Pac above everyone; taught me to move with intelligence and intellect with my music and not just try to be "that nigga" or aim to be the fan favorite. Not just those 2 though; anyone who knows me knows i've dipped into endless realms of Hip-Hop/Rap and a good amount into other genres as well. I could go from A Flock of Seagulls to Boosie Badazz in an instance to be honest.
4. What makes your music different than other rappers/producers?
That's not up to me to say; it's really a matter of perspective on the listener's part. Some people will hear my stuff and say my sounds aren't "different" at all. Then on the flip side, every once in a while i'll run across someone who'll say they never even heard anything like what i make.
I find the concept of "sounding different" kind of bizarre because I dont necessarily make a beat thinking about what anyone else is doing or saying to myself "damn dude, so-and-so ain't never made nothing that sound like this before"
It's really just me.. on the moon.. by myself, doing what i think sounds good. If you as an outsider think it's unique, cudos, appreciate it. If you think it sounds like it's been done-before, oh well, maybe next time. But Hey, Maybe that's what makes it different.
5. Dream collab?
Pharell Williams.
6. Favorite rapper and why?
No one at the moment. I still listen to everyone and everything just like i always have (especially the rising talent in Florida and my main influences) however i'm at the point in my career where I can't exactly be a super-fan anymore because i'm too focused being out here trying to garner my own fans.
7. Where do you see yourself In 10 years?
Paradise of some sorts
8. Favorite album?
Nas illmatic, 1994
9. Upcoming projects?
I haven't announced it yet because i dont have the cover, but i'm releasing my first project since 2014, called "Pyrex Radio" sometime in the spring 2016.
I also have collaboration tapes with Toronto producer Five Families and my squad Chandelier Music Team on the way. Other than these, I just plan to have production on everyone else's projects for the time being.
